BEST ECOMMERCE REPLATFORM (over 140 employees)
Delice de France
Delice de France, a pioneering name in the frozen bakery industry, embarked on an ambitious replatforming journey to enhance its B2B e-commerce capabilities. The transformation involved transitioning from Sana platform to the robust and scalable Cloudfy system. This strategic move was essential to handle the high demand of over 21,000 customer accounts, including hotels and cafés worldwide, ensuring timely and efficient order processing. The new Cloudfy platform, integrated with Microsoft Dynamics F&O, offers customized delivery options, streamlined order handling, and improved user experiences. It supports flexible pricing, advanced product information management, and automated processes, crucial for managing peak order volumes and maintaining product quality. The site redesign focuses on ease of navigation and includes new photographic content that aligns with the Delice de France brand identity. Key outcomes of the replatforming include a significant increase in order handling efficiency, reduction in administrative time per order, and a noticeable boost in average order volume and value. These improvements not only reflect our commitment to growth and customer satisfaction but also position Delice de France at the forefront of B2B ecommerce innovation in the food & beverage sector.
Farrow & Ball – The Pixel
Farrow & Ball, the iconic British brand renowned for its heritage-rich paints and wallpapers, embraced a digital transformation that would enhance its customer experience to match the high standards of its products and brand.
The re-platormed website and user experience (UX) centred around simplifying the customer journey from inspiration to transaction, integrating innovative features to help at key points of the purchase journey from initial exploration through to sale.
The UX project had a comprehensive audit of the existing digital touchpoints, closely examining how customers interacted with the website and identifying critical pain points. With intensive collaboration between Farrow & Ball and The Pixel, we adopted an agile development approach, allowing for rapid prototyping and iterative testing.
Key improvements and innovations were a simplified eCommerce interface with an overhaul of the product detail pages (PDPs), a mobile-friendly design and a two-step “Find the right finish” tool to simplify the complexity of finding the right finish.
Innovative features like a Paint Calculator, personalised content delivery based on user behaviour, and an intuitive sample purchasing process were added to improve the customer experience.
John Lewis & Partners
In 2022 John Lewis was looking for a partner to collaborate with on an ambitious re-platforming project of its £3.5 billion website. The objective was to replace the legacy Oracle ATG platform in place with a flexible and scalable API-first, microservices-led cloud service. It chose commercetools, the global leader in composable commerce, and its partner Deloitte Digital, to help reshape its basket and checkout capabilities, and bolster its commitment to providing a leading online shopping experience.
Rooted in MACH architecture, commercetools’ composable platform enabled John Lewis to ingest over 325,000 products in only 15 minutes, compared to the several days it took the previous legacy system. Incredibly, the two companies achieved a modern-day technological live ‘heart transplant,’ successfully migrating to a completely new composable architecture while sustaining an active user base of 8 million customers, with 1 million orders per week, over half a million active baskets at any time, and peaks of 5-10 orders per second.
John Lewis & Partners found commercetools to be a strong vendor supported by a well-defined commerce technology roadmap, which aligns with its vision to launch and scale digital propositions faster while delivering more omnichannel experiences for its customers.

Our re-platforming success led to invitations to two podcasts. We shared insights on https://insidecommerce.fm/lemieux-replatforming-insights/
The Replatform podcast by e-commerce experts James Gurd and Paul Rodgers, and on https://internetretailing.net/events/enabling-the-multi-verse-of-commerce-futureproofing-your-platform-strategy/ Adobe’s podcast about futureproofing platform strategy.
Here is what LeMieux had to say about working with us on this re-platform project: There is no better way of describing working with Tom&Co than “Team”. As an ambitious and fast-growing brand, we were looking for an agency that aligned with our values and appreciated our immense aspirations and we have certainly got that. As a small team, the support that Tom&Co have provided has been invaluable and their professional, efficient, and approachable way of working has been a key part of our success as a partnership.
We think LeMieux is a real ‘front-runner,’ we hope we have convinced you where to hedge your bets.
Pets Corner – Red Technology
Faced with a myriad of challenges on their previous ecommerce site, ranging from recurring subscription errors to escalating security risks and reliance on third-party apps for functionality, Pets Corner’s confidence in both their ecommerce platform and agency began to wane. As frustration mounted and their bottom line was hit, coupled with the erosion of customer confidence, the need for a replatforming away from their open-source solution and a change of agency became imperative.
Following a comprehensive review of their options and, as part of their wider (Pet Family) group plans, they decided to transition across to the tradeit ecommerce platform from Red Technology. C64
The Conran Shop
The Conran Shop, renowned for its curated selection of contemporary designer homeware and furniture, embarked on a transformative journey by replatforming from Magento to Shopify. Catering to customers who are passionate about expert craftsmanship and sustainable living, the brand sought scalability and flexibility of their ecommerce platform in order to expand globally, particularly into the Middle East, while reducing operational costs.
In addition, they were also rebranding the business, and so the websites needed a complete redesign.
Through meticulous planning, The Conran Shop achieved a remarkable 75% reduction in running costs and significantly improved Core Web Vital scores post-replatform. Their agency, Unified, applied conscious design efforts, resulting in a visually stunning website, integrating innovative features like 360 AR technology and beautiful UX. Marketing technology enhancements, including Klaviyo integration, bolstered revenue and conversions, with email marketing emerging as a top-performing channel post-launch.
The Conran Shop’s commitment to customer-centricity is evident in their TrustPilot score surge post-launch. Bold decisions, including a focus on own-brand products and streamlined tech solutions, reflect their dedication to excellence. This comprehensive replatform project, coupled with a successful re-brand, positions The Conran Shop ahead of their competitors in regard to the online experience they are now able to offer customers.
